Don your denim! Our journey out of this world begins at home with a refreshing, down-to-earth Opening Night tribute to American music. This extraordinary evening begins with the clever and inspired Variations on 'America' by Charles Ives, a composer often considered light years ahead of his time. World-renowned violinist Mark O'Connor takes the stage, joined by rising star Kelly Hall-Tompkins, for his Double Violin Concerto, a fusion of American music styles including Dixieland. Tap into your bold American spirit during Copland's folksy and iconic Appalachian Spring. Then, you're an American in Paris, reveling in the fun and excitement of the City of Light-with Gershwin as your guide!

After the concert, enjoy a free dessert reception for the entire audience hosted by the Evansville Philharmonic Crescendo Club.
